Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

We collect the minimum data needed to run the Service:

  • Account information: your email address and a hashed password.
  • Study content: the IELTS essays you type and the speaking recordings you submit.
  • Usage data: basic analytics such as which pages you visit, attempts completed, and approximate timing. This helps us diagnose issues and improve the product.
  • Payment metadata: a Stripe customer ID and order reference. We do not see or store your card number.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To score your essays and speaking attempts.
  • To show you your progress and history.
  • To improve the product - for example, by debugging failed scoring attempts.
  • To send you transactional and occasional product emails (receipts, important updates). You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.

3. Third Parties

To operate the Service we share specific data with the following sub-processors:

  • Anthropic - we send your essay text to Anthropic’s Claude API for scoring and feedback generation.
  • OpenAI (Whisper) - we send your speaking audio to OpenAI for transcription before scoring.
  • Stripe - processes all payments.
  • Resend - delivers transactional email.
  • MongoDB Atlas - hosts our application database.

Important: Your essay text and speaking audio are sent to Anthropic and OpenAI respectively for AI scoring. We do not train our own models on your content, and we do not sell your data to advertisers or data brokers.

4. Data Retention

We keep your account and study content for as long as your account is active, so you can track your progress over time. If you request deletion, we remove your account and associated content from our active systems within 30 days. Backups are rotated on a 90-day cycle.

5. Your Rights

Regardless of where you live, you may:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate personal data.
  • Delete your account and associated content.
  • Export your essays, scores, and profile as a JSON file on request.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing. If you are in the EU, UK, or another GDPR-aligned jurisdiction, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@ollolabs.ai.

6. Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser, but this may prevent you from signing in.

7. Children

Ollo Labs is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If the changes are material, we will notify registered users by email. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the current version.
